Today was a milestone moment for our Union County CEO team.
Our young professionals officially presented their individual business ideas to the CEO Board for approval to move forward — a powerful step in turning ideas into action.
Over the past several weeks, these students have been working diligently behind the scenes, developing thoughtful, well-researched business plans that include:
🔹 Market analysis
🔹 Target customers
🔹 Competitive research
🔹 Financial projections
🔹 Pricing strategies
🔹 Operations and growth planning
A key part of this success has been the guidance and expertise of Mackenzie Scherer, Director of the Small Business Development Center at Shawnee Community College. Through her weekly Business Plan Bootcamp, students have been taken through the same process real business owners experience when launching and growing a business — building both competence and confidence along the way.
Our recent Ask the Expert Day also played an important role in preparing students for today. The opportunity to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn directly from experienced professionals strengthened their understanding and sharpened their presentation skills.
Today’s presentations reflected their hard work, professionalism, confidence, and commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud of the effort they’ve put in and inspired by their willingness to step forward, share their ideas, and continue refining their plans.
✨ Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming posts as we officially launch each of these 15 student-led small businesses!
👏 Well done, UCCEO team. This is experiential learning at its best — and just the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey.
