One of the greatest benefits of the Union County CEO program is the chance for our young professionals to connect with local business leaders and community members while experiencing meetings and events firsthand. Today was such a shining example of that!

Three of our current team members, along with one alumni, attended the Union County Chamber of Commerce meeting at Sinisiโ€™s on Main. 2020 alumni Drake Roach and team members Alyssa Fabian, Grant Miller, and Mason Lyerla each introduced themselves, shared their reasons for applying to UCCEO, and talked about what theyโ€™ve learned so far. Drake also reflected on his journey through college, maintaining his business, SI Pressure Washing (which he started in CEO), and into his current role with Idea Creative Marketing in Murphysboro. These four did an outstanding job representing Union County CEO, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder of them!

During our presentation, I asked the 25 or so attendees how many had heard of the CEO programโ€”and every single hand went up! Then I asked how many have been or are currently involved with UCCEO, and nearly the whole room raised their hand again. What an incredible reminder of the support our students have from investors, guest speakers, mentors, and board members who continue to show up for them.

This was truly an impactful experience for our young professionals, and such a meaningful way for them to see just how deeply their community believes in and supports them.

The Union County Chamber of Commerce was instrumental in bringing the CEO program to Union County 11 years ago and and has been a continuous investor. A heartfelt thank you to the Chamber for the invitation, for their generous and continued investment in our program, and to everyone who attended for your ongoing support of Union County CEO!
