On Tuesday, March 10th, our Union County CEO young professionals had the privilege of attending the AJ National Bank Annual Shareholders Meeting for the first time — and what a unique and valuable experience it was!
The meeting was led by President Melanie Lasley, who guided shareholders through the bank’s updates, performance, and vision for the future. Our students had the opportunity to observe firsthand how a strong, dependable financial institution communicates with its shareholders and operates with transparency and accountability.
It was also wonderful to see members of the AJNB team who are such great supporters of our program, including Kati Denny, Sarah Verble, Sarah Clinton, and Megan McClellen, who were part of the organizational team and in attendance for the meeting. Their leadership and commitment to both their institution and our community truly set a great example for our students.
Another meaningful moment during the meeting was when current UCCEO team members, Drue Teske and Mariel McGrath, had the opportunity to share brief remarks about their experience in the Union County CEO program. They spoke about the incredible opportunities the program provides and how the continued support and investment from AJ National Bank is making a meaningful difference in their futures — and in the future of Union County as well.
Experiences like this allow our young professionals to step into real business environments and see how organizations function at the highest levels. Observing a shareholders meeting provides insight into leadership, governance, financial stewardship, and long-term vision — lessons that simply can’t be replicated in a traditional classroom setting.
We are incredibly grateful to AJ National Bank for welcoming our students and for the continued support they show to the Union County CEO program and the next generation of entrepreneurs and community leaders.
Thank you for investing in our students and for being such an important part of the Union County business community! 👏💼🌟
