The Annual Bailey Breakfast, graciously hosted by current UCCEO Board Member and former facilitator Evelyn Rider Bailey and her husband, Bill, at their home, is always an interesting, informative, and interactive event!
The morning began with a crash course in proper table setting and etiquette and continued with a delicious breakfast, meaningful life lessons, and plenty of laughter. Each year, Evelyn thoughtfully weaves lessons in etiquette, the power of observation, active listening, networking and connections, leadership, entrepreneurship, and the responsibility of giving back into this special experience. The warmth, humor, and wisdom that Bill and Evelyn share make it an inspiring and memorable tradition.
Evelyn was instrumental in bringing the UCCEO program to Union County. As our very first facilitator, she helped develop the curriculum and get the program up and running. Today, she remains a dedicated board member and one of UCCEO’s strongest advocates, continuing to support every student and facilitator along the way.
From stories about family, careers, and life experiences to lessons ranging from silverware placement to the perils of escalators in China, the Bailey Breakfast is always filled with valuable takeaways and joyful fellowship.
UCCEO team member, Alexis Houseman, who hosted this visit, shares her thoughts and appreciation:
“Recently, Evelyn Bailey opened up her home to our Union County CEO team. She provided us with a wonderful breakfast and words of wisdom. She has been a fundamental member of our CEO team since the beginning. While she might not be a facilitator anymore, she gave us great advice that will help us as we approach our class business. She took the time to teach us skills for the future that no one else has done before because she believes in us. I just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of our team for all that you do and the amazing breakfast!”
Thank you, Bill and Evelyn, for opening your home and your hearts, for sharing your knowledge and experience, and for your continued love and support of the UCCEO program. We are so grateful for you and look forward to seeing you throughout the year as we continue our journey together!
