The Union County CEO team was honored to welcome Mr. Mark Chamness, owner of Whitney Accounting in Anna, as our guest speaker last week!
Mark has been a part of the UCCEO Program since the idea was first introduced to our community. He is a Board Member, an Investor, and steadfast supporter of our program—his involvement and encouragement have been instrumental since the very beginning. We are incredibly grateful for his continued commitment to the success of Union County CEO and our students.
Born and raised in Anna, Mark graduated from AJCHS, attended John A. Logan College and SIU, and earned his degree in Accounting. After working in the St. Louis area for several years, he and his wife, Kasey, decided to return home to raise their family. Mark shared how rewarding it has been to build both a business and a life right here in Union County—and emphasized that there are many opportunities to be successful while staying close to home.
During his visit, Mark offered his professional expertise to guide the team through an overview of income and expense statements, profit and loss, and projected earnings as they continue developing their class business. He will be meeting with the financial committee to go over how to “read the numbers,” keep good records, and organize their financial information—skills that will benefit them not only in this project but in their future individual ventures as well.
Thank you, Mark, for your time, expertise, and unwavering support of the Union County CEO Program. Your insight and encouragement make a lasting impact on our young professionals and this community!
