π Itβs Class Business Season for the Union County CEO Team! π
This marks the second major project of the program β and the biggest team endeavor of the year. Over the past few weeks, our young professionals have been fully immersed in the ideation and planning process for their class business.
They began by setting clear goals for what they wanted their business to accomplish, then moved into brainstorming sessions to generate and refine potential ideas. After narrowing down their top concepts, the team conducted SWOT analyses to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each option and determine their feasibility.
A key part of this process included workshops with Mackenzie Scherer, Director of the Small Business Development Center at Shawnee Community College. Mackenzie introduced the team to the Business Model Canvas, a powerful tool for structuring business ideas. Her expertise and guidance gave our students a solid framework to work from, and we are incredibly grateful for her insight.
Through multiple collaborative meetings filled with research, discussion, and teamwork, the 15 young professionals ultimately split into three groups to pitch their ideas. After thoughtful presentations and deliberation, they selected their final concept and presented it to the UCCEO Board for approval. Weβre excited to share that the proposal was unanimously approved β and theyβre officially moving forward!
