A visit with Chris Egelston - Corporate Entertainer, Infotainer, Magician, is always a FAN FAVE and once again, Chris aced the assignment! The AJ Wildcats senior, Jayci Needling, jaycijo2308, offers her perspective below:
“Mr. Chris Egelston was our guest speaker at the Shawnee Mass Transit District, Anna Depot. He works at the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship as the Community Engagement Leader. Chris got his masters in business administration at SIUC and he also grew up in Union County. He shared with us that he’s a magician, which he started doing when he was just 15 years old. That was really cool to learn about him!
Chris gave us a presentation about DISC and how our personality traits affect the way we work as a team. Now that we know everyone’s traits, we’ll be able to work together more effectively. We also did an activity where we had to make one of our teammates into a mummy using toilet paper. While doing this, we could see who liked to take charge and who preferred to step back and observe. This will be useful later this year when we start our businesses together.
A huge thank you to Mr. Chris Egelston for sharing your presentation and helping our team learn more about our personality traits!
Also, a big thank you to Shawnee Mass Transit for providing us with a room for our meeting space!”
For any of our followers who know of a community that is interested in the CEO program, Chris is the person to speak with. In his role with Midland Institute, he speaks to audiences around the country about the CEO Program and helps communities that want to embrace this experience for their next generation build their own local programs. He also presents his keynote, “Engaging, Educating and Empowering Emerging Entrepreneurs,” for audiences at Economic Development, Community Foundation, Electric Cooperative, and Education Conferences around the country.
Thank you again, Chris and Shawnee Mass Transit District!! We are glad you are a part of Union County CEO.
