As our 2025 alumni are seeing their future plans come to fruition, let’s look back at one of our business visits in the spring! coffmansmartialartsacademy is an AMAZING business located in Anna. Grand Master Heather Coffman and Grand Master Robert Cutrell have moved the Chun Ji Do World Headquarters to the academy and are sharing their knowledge and expertise with students ranging in age from pre-school to adult!
Grand Master Coffman was our host and she shared that she didn’t get started in martial arts until she was in her 30s, when she encouraged her son to start. He wasn’t sure he wanted to stick with it so she told him she would do it with him. It turned out that he did give it up eventually, but she had a natural ability and loved learning. Her hard work and love of the sport has paid off as she has progressed to high levels in more than one martial art form. She is also an amazing teacher and competitor, having competed in and won world championships.
Grandmaster Cutrell created the Chun Ji Do system in his 30s. He has taught in Europe and across the United States and watched Chun Ji Do become a worldwide organization in 32 different countries. We are extremely fortunate to have this level of knowledge, expertise and professionalism available in our community!
Grand Master Coffman shared several different pieces of advice during our visit.
1. Life constantly opens doors. Don’t be afraid to go through them.
2. It doesn’t matter that you are from a “little old town”, you can do BIG things.
3. Live your path and be true to it and yourself.
We are so glad that they have followed their own advice and worked hard to make their dreams come true.
