Recently the UCCEO team had the opportunity to visit the City of Anna.
We were honored to meet and speak with several dedicated community leaders:
• Ms. Dori Bigler, City Administrator
• Mr. Jordan Chamness, Director of Public Works
• Mr. Lonnie Lewis, Department of Public Works
• Lt. Jessica Roberts, Anna Fire Department
They generously shared valuable professional and personal advice, including:
✅ Prioritize your physical and mental well-being
✅ Follow through with your responsibilities
✅ Get involved in your community
✅ It is OK to change your career path
✅ Don’t be afraid to try new things
It takes a team of committed individuals to keep a community thriving. Each of these leaders plays a vital role—from budgeting, planning, and scheduling, to street repairs, training, public and fire safety, equipment management, and so much more!
These professionals—and their teams—are truly the lifeblood of Anna. We’re incredibly grateful for their time, insights, and dedication.
The City of Anna has been a proud Investor in the UCCEO program since its beginning and continues to support our students and community wholeheartedly. Dori is a multi-year mentor and is always willing to share her background in accounting to help us with class business financials. The Public Works Department provided so much logistical and operational support for our class business and Jessica has rearranged her schedule to be available to speak to us.
Thank you, Dori, Jessica, and Jordan, for the warm welcome, the inspiring conversations and to for all you do to keep our community up and running!!
