Recently, we had the privilege of visiting Mr. Casey Johnson, Superintendent of the Anna Jonesboro Water Commission, at the Water Treatment Facility in Jonesboro. The Water Commission is one of our valued Investors, and we sincerely appreciate their commitment to our program. Casey is also one of our dedicated mentors, offering leadership, support, and guidance to one of our students, @Cole Pender, this year.
The UCCEO Team had a fantastic morning touring the facility, where Casey gave us a crash course in the immense effort required to supply water to a municipality—it’s far more complex than most people realize!
Our community relies on millions of gallons of water every day. The AJ Water Commission supplies water to Anna, Jonesboro, Choate, Lick Creek, Ware, and Wolf Lake. It’s a 24/7/365 operation, with someone always on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly.
For most of us, turning on the faucet and having clean water is something we take for granted—we’ve never known life without it. Seeing firsthand what it takes to extract, treat, and deliver safe, reliable water to our homes was truly eye-opening.
