The Union County Farm Bureau is a not for profit membership advocacy agency that is 105 years old!! We had the pleasure of meeting with the UCFB manager, Ms. Stephanie Rhodes who shared with us that the organization has the largest membership, approximately 1600 members, of any other organization in the county. Wow! Our agricultural community is something for us to be proud of!

Ms. Rhodes also shared her story of growing up on a farm in Wolf Lake, graduating from Shawnee High School, attending and graduating from the University of Illinois and all of the life events that led her back to Union County. She has had amazing opportunities to live, study and work in many places, including Germany, Atlanta and Chicago. She shared the importance and value of getting out and experiencing new places, cultures and people while still valuing and appreciating “where you come from”.

“Bloom where you are planted”.
“Feed your creativity”.
“Meet people where they are”.
“Your energy flows where you focus goes”.

These are some of the useful life tips that Stephanie shared with us during our visit. Thank you so much, Stephanie for your time and your wisdom! We had a great time and appreciate you!!!
