Apples, pumpkins and scarecrows, Oh My!!! A trip to @rendlemanorchards in September will definitely have you saying “Howdy Fall”!!! The UCCEO team spent Wednesday morning with Ms. Michelle Sirles discussing the history of their farm, their wholesale business, the growth of their Farm Market and all things fall! Michelle and her husband, Wayne Sirles, are the 5th generation of the Rendleman family to continue their family business.

Michelle welcomed us with apple cider donuts and bottles of cider to go with as we browsed the Farm Market. The Market was started about 20 years ago by Wayne’s mom, Mrs. Betty Sirles, who along with her husband, Ren, still live on the farm. We were very moved as she shared that much of the decor is pieces of their family history. From the barn wood ceiling to the handmade quilt to the license plate collection on the wall, the building is filled with history and memories of their family. She also shared some valuable information about branding, marketing and growing their business.

Next, we went outside and began a tour of “all of the things”. From picking your own pumpkins in the pumpkin patch to visiting with the resident goats to picking flowers and making your own arrangement, there are tons of ways to make special memories with your family and friends when you visit the farm! The photo ops are amazing and carrying on the tradition we saw in the market, most contain pieces of the Rendleman family history. Old trucks, water troughs, ladders and more adorn the displays and make them even more special.

Thank you Michelle for sharing your morning with us and also your family business! It is a business rich in family history and love and we had a wonderful time experiencing it!
